“We're looking forward to a wonderful Alumni Weekend,” says Rod Morrison, director of the McMaster Alumni Association. “It's always a special pleasure to welcome McMaster graduates back to campus, to celebrate the accomplishments of the newest members of the Alumni Gallery, and to thank all of the volunteers who work on behalf of the McMaster Alumni Association throughout the year. It promises to be a great occasion.”

The McMaster Alumni Association (MAA) will recognize the achievements of various alumni on Saturday June 4, including accomplished graduates, recent graduates and one alumni who made significant contributions to McMaster since graduating in 1938.

Thirteen new inductees will enter the McMaster Alumni Gallery, a forum for recognizing accomplished McMaster alumni who have made significant contributions to their vocations and avocations. Click here for a list of the new inductees.

The MAA will also recognize the achievements of five recent graduates with the Arch Award, to recognize the achievements of the University's most recent graduates. Click here for a list of the recipients.

The Alumni Association Distinguished Award will be presented to 91-year-old Ralph Hindson '38.

The Distinguished Service Award is the highest form of recognition awarded by the McMaster Alumni Association. It recognizes outstanding contributions and dedication to the Alumni Association and its mission.

Hindson began his volunteer work with the McMaster Alumni Association as a member of the Hamilton Alumni Branch. Since then, he has assumed numerous leadership roles with the association including serving as president of the McMaster Alumni Association from 1948-1949. In addition, he has held the title of president, Year '38 for more than 65 years. In this role Hindson spearheaded the creation of the Year '38 Amelia Hall Scholarship fund in honour of fellow classmate and actress Amelia Hall.

McMaster also will host the ninth annual Marauder Scholar Brunch to celebrate its top student-athletes on Sunday June 5, at 10:30 a.m. in the CIBC Banquet Centre of the McMaster University Student Centre.

Awards will be presented to the top male and female academic performers as well as to all student-athletes achieving greater than 80 per cent in their course of study.
