There is one week left in the nomination period for the inaugural McMaster Alumni
Hamilton Community Impact Award. Nominations will be accepted until June 1.

The award was created to recognize individuals who have made a positive impact on the
Hamilton community while reflecting the McMaster University values of integrity, quality
and teamwork.

“This is an exciting development in the Alumni Association's recognition program
because the award demonstrates McMaster's commitment to the local community,” said
David Adames, McMaster Alumni Association president.

The Hamilton Community Impact Award will recognize up to three McMaster alumni or
current faculty or staff. Preference will be given to those residing in Hamilton.

“Over the years, this award will showcase some of the outstanding contributions that
McMaster alumni and employees are making in the city of Hamilton,” said Jennifer
Kleven, chair of the nominating committee.

The award was created as part of the Alumni Association's goal to recognize the
achievements of alumni, students and friends of McMaster University, and reward
outstanding contributions to the Alumni Association.

It will be presented as the kickoff to Homecoming Weekend at an award luncheon at the
Art Gallery of Hamilton on Sept. 29.
