Over 150 students participated in the challenge with around 100 spectators in attendance.
The day was filled contests that quizzed the students on fun science facts and interactive science demonstrations. Awards and prizes, donated by local businesses, were provided for the winners and event participants.
McMaster student volunteers of the Canada-wide Let's Talk Science Partnership Program organized the event. Katie Clarke, a volunteer and master's student at McMaster, exclaimed about the day, “it's been a lot of fun, the kids are really smart – smarter than us!”
Nathan Jervis, a grade seven Westview student, responded that the event was “pretty fun” as he concentrated on participating in Clarkes science demo. Overall, the students enjoyed the day exploring the ins and outs of science at McMaster.
