Students from 26 Canadian universities will descend on the McMaster campus May 4 for a five-day National Leadership Development Conference (NLDC). Hosted by AIESEC McMaster, the conference will bring together 300 ambitious university students of various fields of study to explore community connections, discuss world issues, expand their network of friends, and develop a broad range of skills.

As a demonstration of the students' ability to develop community connections, Dofasco Inc., Canada's most successful steel producer, has partnered with AIESEC McMaster to host the NLDC with a donation of $7500.

President of the conference organizing committee, Nima Hessami explains, “We knew right away it was inevitable to partner with the most recognized and sustainable industry leaders in Hamilton to host the NLDC successfully. Dofasco has been there for AIESEC McMaster, dating back to 2001, by taking on an AIESEC intern from Columbia; Dofasco employee participation on AIESEC McMaster's Board of Advisory and Directors; and continuing generous financial contributions.”

Conference attendee's will have the opportunity to network with delegates, peers and AIESEC business partners while developing their skills as future leaders. Dofasco representatives will be on hand during the conference's 'Dofasco External Day' to lend their expertise in community and employee relations and learn from its ability to innovate and share experiences in the global steel market.

“My team and I are looking forward to delivering one of the most memorable AIESEC conferences on the beautiful McMaster campus,” says Hessami. “Which has been made possible by the support of organizations such as Dofasco.”
