10 things you’ll miss out on without your MacPass

You’re gearing up for Welcome Week, but you haven’t confirmed your MacPass. No big deal, right?

That depends.

The all-access Welcome Week pass (which, if you’re a Level 1 student registered in 18 units or more, you’ve already paid for) gets you in to many of the week’s events.

So unless you’re alright with missing out on a BBQ, free swag and a concert, you’re going to want to confirm your MacPass on OSCARplus, using your MacID and password.

Here’s what else you’ll miss out on without your MacPass:

1. Free swag: A wristband as your all-access pass to events, one-of-a-kind faculty t-shirt, residence or off-campus t-shirt, water bottles, umbrellas, reusable bags and lanyards.

2. Mac Connector: Ice-breaker games to help connect students from different residences and faculties. An aerial photo of the graduating class is included – smile!

3. McMaster Welcome & BBQ: The official welcome to McMaster University. You’ll pass through the famous and historical Edwards Arch and be greeted with a handshake by McMaster President Patrick Deane.

4. Monday Night Social: Several events to choose from including an outside glow dance party, meet-and-greet event, Shinerama Charity Casino and more.

5. Faculty Day: A day of getting to know your faculty and peers with each faculty meeting in specific areas of campus. Later, meet other faculties in the Ron Joyce Stadium stands. And don’t forget Faculty Night later in the week.

6. MacPass concert: If you’re an EDM fan, you won’t want to miss Bingo Players in concert at Faculty Hollow.

7. Glow-in-the-dark capture the flag: Need we say more?

8. IRIS: (Inspiration, Reflection, Integrity, Success) is an annual orientation play welcoming first-year students to the McMaster community.

9. Airbands: A Welcome Week favourite in which first-year students participate in the fun by watching faculty and residence group compete for the best airband. Cheer loudly!

10. Residence and Society of Off-Campus Students programming: Various activities to help students meet and socialize with peers living near each other.
