United Way campaign kickoff to take place during Volunteer Fair

President Patrick Deane will kick off the 2013 McMaster United Way Campaign Sept. 25 during the two-day Community Engagement and Volunteer Fair in the McMaster University Student Centre (MUSC) marketplace.

Numerous United Way agencies and University staff members will join Deane at 11:30 a.m. for a ceremony complete with tea and Hotti Biscotti.

Students, staff and faculty are invited to take in the ceremony and attend the fair which runs from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 24 and 25. In addition to learning more about the Hamilton community, it’s an opportunity to explore volunteer opportunities and connect with United Way agencies to gain a better understanding of how donations impact the community.

The ninth annual fair will feature representatives from more than 70 organizations and agencies related to health, all abilities, women’s issues, the environment, LGBTQ and newcomer communities, youth, seniors, museums and more.
