Campus Store provides thousands of dollars to Athletics and Recreation
On Monday, September 5th, Campus Store Director Donna Shapiro presented a cheque for $38,697 to McMaster’s Athletics and Recreation department. This is part of a long standing partnership between the Campus Store and A&R. Every year, a portion of Marauder merchandise sales is handed back to support McMaster Athletics. The official ceremony took place at the Labour Day football game where the Marauder’s were victorious over U of T Varsity Blues, with a 32 -5 win. A&R Director Glen Grunwald and the McMaster athletes were on hand to accept the cheque on behalf of McMaster Athletics.
“We are so pleased to be able to give back to such an important part of the McMaster community, said Shapiro. “Part of the Campus Store mission is to enhance and build connections between McMaster and the Community, enhancing school spirit and building relationships with partners on campus are two ways that the Campus Store contributes to strengthening this commitment.”
The Campus Store has similar programs set up across campus with other departments with a portion of each sale going to support the department. They will continue to provide an array of Marauder clothing and accessories year round in store, online and now as a pop up shop at most home games. Look for them at this season’s football, basketball and volleyball games.
