The federal government has chosen McMaster to host a special Town Hall on the future of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).

As Canada, the United States and Mexico continue to work towards the modernization of NAFTA, the government is consulting with the public about the ongoing negotiations.

The Wed. Nov. 1 Town Hall features Andrew Leslie, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Leslie will provide a unique insight into the issues and perspectives shaping the ongoing discussions around NAFTA, key Canadian priorities and the impact it could have on the Canadian economy.

Atif Kubursi, McMaster professor of economics, will facilitate the discussion. Kubursi is a regular media commentator on issues surrounding NAFTA, and has published extensively in the areas of economic development strategies and international trade.

The campus community and general public are invited to attend this event to provide insight and opinions, ask questions and engage in thoughtful dialogue with the federal government.
