Extensive renovations are coming to MUSC over the next two summers. The Starbucks location will also be renovated to expand its reach closer to Compass, creating a coffee shop study space for students.

More seating and better traffic flow are just two of the improvements coming to the Student Centre.

Renovations will take place over the next two summers, and will include increased seating in the food court area, the addition of bar stools on the upper floor of the building and a second staircase at the Arts Quad entrance.

The upgrades, made possible by the Student Life Enhancement Fund, are the result of student voting which took place earlier this year.

Nearly 2,000 students voted for a number of projects, and cited upgrades to MUSC as a priority.

The building’s Starbucks will also be renovated to expand its reach closer to Compass, creating a coffee shop study space for students.

The adjacent MUSC entrance will move down to accommodate the expansion.

Compass will also be given a renovation and the atrium will be equipped with a new, permanent sound system. A large screen will accompany this and will be installed in the atrium area over the fireplace.
