Kathleen Martin Ginis, director of the McMaster Physical Activity Centre of Excellence and a professor in the Department of Kinesiology, shared her expertise regarding elite athletes during a Feb. 10 live chat with CBC Hamilton.

Listeners from across Canada tuned in to CBC Hamilton on Feb. 10 to hear McMaster professor Kathleen Martin Ginis discuss how Olympic athletes manage to step up when the pressure is on.

“The bottom line, for athletes preparing for the Olympics, is that they try to set their lives up with no distractions,” said Martin Ginis. “They try to simplify their lives so that they’re eating, sleeping and breathing that sport. Everything else gets set aside.”
