More than 3,000 students will move out of McMaster’s residence buildings between Thursday, April 24 and Wednesday, April 30. During this period, there will be an increase in traffic on the roadways near student residences.

Parking attendants wearing orange safety vests will be directing traffic in Lot E (opposite McKay Hall and the Commons Building), Lot G (opposite Woodstock and Hedden Halls) and designated areas close to other campus residence buildings. The attendants will be in place April 24 to 29 from 12 to 7 p.m., and April 30 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Attendants will ensure that visiting cars do not block roadways, fire lanes or pedestrian walkways.

To avoid the general increase in pedestrian and vehicular traffic, staff and visitors to campus are strongly encouraged to park in the Underground Stadium parking lot. During the move-out period, transponder holders to Lots E and G will be permitted to park at the Underground Stadium parking lot. Exam parking for students will also be the stadium lot.

Pedestrians in the west quad should also note that cars will be allowed to drive to Moulton, Matthews and Wallingford Halls along the emergency roadway north and east of Mary Keyes Residence and will stop in designated areas to load personal belongings. Parking attendants will ensure that cars move safely in one direction only, and do not block emergency vehicle access.

Security & Parking Services has assisted in the preparation of the move-out plan to ensure that the operation will run smoothly. Your patience throughout this process is appreciated.
