Eileen Shuller will talk about her life as a scholar of the Dead Sea Scrolls at an upcoming campus talk. Schuller was recently named a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada.

McMaster professor and Dead Sea Scrolls expert Eileen Schuller says the ancient texts might not be the oldest ever found, but they do shed considerable light on a key moment in Judaism and the development of Christianity.

Schuller, who was recently named a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, sat down with The Hamilton Spectator recently to talk about the Scrolls, which she has translated extensively.

She is one of only a handful of international researchers responsible for the Scrolls’ deciphering.
