More than 1,500 graduands will earn McMaster degrees Nov. 21 at Fall Convocation ceremonies taking place in downtown Hamilton.

Two ceremonies – one in the morning, and one in the afternoon – will happen at Hamilton Place.

McMaster will also award honorary degrees to Bob McNutt and Izzeldin Abuelaish.

McNutt, a retired faculty member of more than 30 years. is a former dean of science. He also served as acting Provost, acting dean of humanities and interim dean of business.

Abuelaish founded the Daughters for Life Foundation, which provides scholarships for young women, after three of his daughters were killed during the Gaza War.

Biochemistry post-doctoral fellow Monica Pillon will also be presented with the Governor General’s Academic Medal at Convocation.

The award recognizes Pillon’s long history of academic excellence, first as a master’s student and later as a PhD candidate at McMaster.
