University, BUC begin collective bargaining
McMaster and the Building Union of Canada (BUC) have started meetings to discuss a new collective agreement.
BUC represents approximately 300 operations and maintenance workers at McMaster. The current agreement expires September 30th, 2018.
“We are in the early stages of the bargaining process. These are our first meetings and we have exchanged opening proposals,” says Mohamed Attalla, Chief Facilities Officer and chair of the University’s bargaining committee.
The University strives to reach a fair and responsible renewal collective agreement as the bargaining process continues.
