Residence Information System gets a digital overhaul

McMaster’s Residence Life Office has enhanced the popular on-campus Residence Information System to meet the growing needs of the community.

The new technology, known as “Screenscape,” allows for better integration and sharing of content in a way that is intuitive and easy to manage. The move has made it easier than ever for campus and community partners to share creative and innovative information with students in residence, including photos, posters and videos.

The new technology will be used with existing LCD screens and speakers located in all 12 residence buildings, and will reach approximately 3,700 McMaster students.

Key benefits for the campus community:

  • Expedited message distribution to residence students
  • Cost savings realized through digital (non-paper) production and distribution
  • Enhanced versatility of customized messaging to individual residence communities
  • Increased opportunity for creativity and professionalism of content
