President’s Awards for Outstanding Service
Nominations are now open for the President’s Awards for Outstanding Service in 2012.
McMaster community members are asked to identify employees who have contributed “above and beyond” during the 2012 calendar year. Please consider those who are consistently outstanding in their service and/or innovation; or, who repeatedly enhance the University’s reputation through their outstanding work.
Inspired by the existing President’s Awards program for faculty members, these awards were introduced to similarly acknowledge employees who are:
- non-teaching members of the University community
- full or part-time employees from operations, research and ancillary departments or units of McMaster University
- employed on a continuing basis or for a term or contract of one or more year’s duration
- do not hold a senior management position; employees at TMG band O or higher are not eligible for the awards.
Please help us to recognize and honour these employees by taking the time to complete a nomination.
Since 1997, the President’s Awards have recognized and celebrated the outstanding work of hundreds of exceptional employees and team members in contributing to the mission and success of McMaster University. As President Patrick Deane announced last year, a new Lifetime Achievement Award will be launched this year and the details of this award will be made available on the website once finalized.
The submission process is straightforward. Any member of the McMaster community can be a nominator. For further information about the awards and the nomination process, visit the program website.
The website offers tips on how to prepare a successful nomination submission, and also provides the program policy in PDF format. Related inquiries can be directed to presidentsaward@mcmaster.ca.
A maximum of ten awards to individuals or groups (with a maximum of two group awards) are offered. The nominees and award recipients are acknowledged for their achievements through posters located across campus, the President’s Awards website and at the awards ceremony.
Nomination packages for individuals and teams may be requested online between Dec. 7, 2012 and Feb. 1, 2013. Completed nomination packages must be received by Feb. 15, 2013. All submissions will be reviewed by the President’s Awards Advisory Committee who will provide President Deane with their recommendations.
The awards ceremony to celebrate the achievements of nominees and recipients will be held on May 28, 2013, in CIBC Banquet Hall at 3 p.m.
