Extended prayer and spiritual care spaces at McMaster for Ramadan
During Ramadan in March, McMaster University has extended access to its prayer and spiritual care spaces to ensure everyone has access to observe their spiritual practices on campus.
During Ramadan, the following spaces are available for use:
- Spiritual Care and Learning Centre (MUSC 212): Open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Mills Library (Third Floor): Open from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.
- Thode Library (B117A): Open from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.
- Multifaith Prayer Spaces (The Hub, Third Floor): Open Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- The Hub Loft (Fourth Floor): Open from 6 p.m. until Iftar and Taraweeh.
- McMaster Children’s Hospital Chapel (Second Floor): Open 24/7.
- Muslim Student Association Prayer Space (T13, Rooms 106 and 112): Open Monday to Saturday.
Visit the McMaster Student Success Centre’s Ramadan Prayer Spaces page for more information on these and other spaces on campus, including rooms in Hamilton Hall and MDCL, as well as designated spaces at the Ron Joyce Centre and the David Braley Health Sciences Centre.
These spaces are designed to support the spiritual well-being of all students, staff and faculty, providing a peaceful environment for prayer, meditation and reflection.
These spaces are also available throughout the year. The extended hours and additional support during Ramadan have been coordinated by the Spiritual Care and Learning Centre in consultation with the Muslim Students Association and McMaster Students Union.
