The panel will be moderated by Nancy Doubleday, Hope Chair in Peace and Health, and will feature Andrew Bacevich, Professor Emeritus of International Relations and History at Boston University and a career officer in the U.S. Army, from which he retired with the rank of Colonel.

“Peace needs tending and, like water, is essential to us all, to all life,” says Doubleday. “Creating opportunities for navigating toward peace, requires that universities foster civil society, and actively envision possibilities for hopeful change. As a contribution to this process of fostering hopeful change, we mark the International Day of Peace, by hosting thoughtful individuals, concerned citizens and our community, to consider “Prospects for Peace”. All are needed on this voyage, we hope that you will come and join us.”

During his visit to McMaster, Andrew Bacevich will also be delivering the 2018 Russell Peace lecture, What Hath Trump Wrought?,in which he will discuss how was Donald Trump was able to win the American presidency, and what his election signifies.

This talk will take place on Saturday, September 22 at 7p.m. in McMaster’s L.R. Wilson Hall.
