The university continues its negotiations with CUPE Local 3906, Unit 2, toward a renewal agreement for Sessional Faculty and Hourly-Rated Sessional Musical Faculty.

To keep discussions moving forward, the university recently asked the province to assign a conciliator, which is a normal step in the collective bargaining process. Once a provincial conciliator has been assigned, they will meet with the university and the union to help progress negotiations.

By adhering to long-standing institutional Collective Bargaining Principles, the university’s goal is to reach a fair and equitable contract that is affordable and sustainable in the long-term. The university has been meeting with the union since August and remains hopeful for a resolution through the ongoing negotiation process.
