Move-in weekend 2025: What you need to know

More than 4,000 McMaster students and their loved ones will be on campus this weekend for the residence Move-In event.

Move-in begins on Saturday, Aug. 23 at 8 a.m. and is expected to wrap up Sunday, Aug. 24 by 6:30 p.m.

Hundreds of staff and upper-year student volunteers will be on hand to cheer, greet incoming students and assist with moving in.

Housing & Conference Services (HCS) will run a Welcome Zone with a photobooth and raffle.

If you will be on campus, please plan for an increase in foot and vehicle traffic. HCS has partnered with Campus Safety and Parking Services to make the event run as smoothly as possible: Click here (on “Getting to Campus”) for move-in driving routes.

HCS will continue to run its Live Chat for support and will post updates to the McMaster Housing Instagram (liveatmac).

  • Parking lots G and Q will be closed for move-in setup starting Thursday at 4 p.m., and will reopen on Monday, Aug. 25.
