Mosaic and Health & Safety Training

McMaster’s Health and Safety Training Program is designed to provide mandatory and site-specific safety training for all employees, grad students, volunteers and visitors working at the University. Registration for Health and Safety training is now available through the Self-Service functionality in Mosaic. Registrants can complete their courses via Avenue to Learn. If you are unsure of what training you require, please see our training matrices.

For detailed steps regarding training enrollment please see our registration job aid available at: http://www.workingatmcmaster.ca/med/document/Self-Service-Training-Enrollment_JOBAID-1-36.pdf.

Once courses are completed, a newly updated training record can be viewed in Mosaic. For navigational instructions on how to obtain proof of completion, please see our training summary job aid available at: http://www.workingatmcmaster.ca/med/document/Self-Service-Training-Summary_JOBAID-1-36.pdf.

Note that any training completed before the implementation of Mosaic using our historical paper process will not be reflected in Mosaic. To obtain older records, please email the appropriate safety office (EOHSS, FHS Safety Office, or the Biosafety Office).

For Managers:

Managers are now able to track newly completed Health and Safety training for their employees, as well as enroll their employees for training as required. Our EOHSS website contains detailed managerial job aids for both these procedures.

For Department Administrators:

A new “Training Coordinator” role has been created for administrators who are responsible for tracking the training of individuals in their department. This functionality allows administrators to view all employee records and eliminates the need to request training summaries from the University’s safety offices. To learn how to set up this function, please see our FAQs.
