MacBuy up and running with controlled live orders and pilot group

McMaster has begun transitioning to an online purchasing system. MacBuy is integrated with Mosaic and allows buyers to use an online shopping cart to order items directly from showcase/catalogue and non-catalogue suppliers. The first live testing took place on May 6 and the office supplies were delivered without difficulty.

The testing resulted in a few small tweaks to the system and validated how easy it is to use MacBuy to purchase from catalogue suppliers.

Pilot departments Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences, Stem Cell and Cancer Research Institute, Kinesiology, and Chemistry and Chemical Biology have completed onboarding training and set-up. Phased-in onboarding will continue through the summer and fall months with other departments, starting with the Faculty of Humanities, and will also include business process mapping.

Pilot users shared some positive feedback:

“Woo hoo! The system is working! I just approved – this is a beautiful system! What I like about this is that it tells me in an email what has been ordered, versus me having to log into Mosaic and click around.”

“Hello my gorgeous MacBuy team,
Just to let you know that I got my toner today at 1:15 from McMaster receiving.
This is the fastest delivery ever in my entire life. Great job guys.”
