MacBuy set to roll out this May

If your job involves sourcing and purchasing items such as lab and office supplies, computers or furniture, get ready for an improved system when MacBuy rolls out this May.

As announced at the kick-off in August and a town hall event in November, McMaster is transitioning to an online procurement system integrated with Mosaic. This new functionality uses an online shopping cart purchasing experience, improves reporting, and provides a supplier portal.

Purchasers will be able to order supplies directly from 17 vendors including Fisher Scientific, VWR, Grand & Toy, and Dell without needing to use a credit card. This makes ordering faster and will reduce pCard reconciliation work. Additional suppliers will be added in the future.

By using the MacBuy system for purchasing, McMaster can negotiate lower prices on many items based on bulk buying throughout the university and via higher education partners.

Watch for monthly updates on the project including training dates, onboarding information and frequently asked questions.
