Increased online security for MacMail Email coming soon

On January 8, 2019 at 6 a.m. Computer Services Unit (CSU) is implementing a version of the Palo Alto Next Generation Firewall (NGFW) for the University campus network in front of MacMail Email and all FHS servers. This firewall will add further protection to our network. University Technology Services (UTS) recently applied a broader NGFW and over the past few months, CSU and UTS have collaborated to ensure a smooth application and troubleshooting for this additional security profile.

This new inspection profile will block the following categories;

  • Malware – Sites known to host malware
  • Phishing – Sites known to host credential phishing pages or phishing for personal identification
