Human-powered flight focus of upcoming student talk
On Wednesday, Sept. 25, the McMaster chapter of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers is hosting an event on campus profiling the exciting and innovative AeroVelo project.
AeroVelo made headlines by becoming the first group to build a 100 per cent human-powered helicopter capable of sustained flight, winning the team a $250,000 Sikorski Prize. The AeroVelo project is an exceptional example of engineering in practice, and the event is an amazing opportunity for McMaster students to be inspired by a local success story.
Students from all disciplines are encouraged to attend and be inspired by project co-founders, as they share their challenges and accomplishments in overcoming the engineering feat of human-powered flight.
The event begins at 7 p.m. in Chester New Hall (Room 104). Attendees are asked to RSVP on Facebook.
