Flags lowered in memory of student Halia Mueller-Classen
The McMaster community extends its deepest condolences to the family of Halia Mueller-Classen, a third year Bachelor of Social Work student who passed away on March 24, 2024. Halia was a valued member of the McMaster community and will be deeply missed by her friends, instructors and staff.
Halia’s mother Vanessa writes, “Halia was the light in a world full of darkness. Anyone who knew her never wanted to be without her in their lives. She will be missed, but never forgotten.”
She also provided the following quote in remembrance of Halia: “She smiled softly but this time it was different. Her face smiled but her eyes didn’t.”
The flags at University Hall will be flown at half-mast today in memory of Halia.
