Dutch ambassador to talk internationalization on campus
The Global Health Office is delighted to announce that His Excellency Cees Kole, Ambassador of the Netherlands to Canada, will be visiting McMaster University on January 25, 2016, to deliver a presentation on Internationalization in Higher Education.
The talk is part of the annual Global Health Speaker Series, which invites preeminent experts from all over the world to speak at McMaster University about issues related to global health.
President Deane will announce Ambassador Kole’s talk, which will explore the issues involved in internationalizing higher education and the importance of strong educational and multidimensional partnerships. In terms of international education specifically, Ambassador Kole will address the need to design the future of global health using a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach, and a connection between research, industry and policy.
Since he was appointed in 2010, McMaster University’s President, Dr. Deane, has been focused on promoting and supporting research, strengthening the connections between the University and the local and global communities that we serve and ensuring a distinctive, personalized and engaging experience for McMaster’s students. Dr. Deane’s Forward With Integrity initiative outlines a number of measures the University is taking to enhance international activities and incorporate global perspectives.
The Global Health Office continues to forge ties with the Netherlands, beyond our joint Master of Science in Global Health program with Maastricht University, as building and nurturing these international relationships is critical to addressing global health issues and educating future leaders.
