Data breach at third-party ticket vendor

McMaster University has been made aware of a data breach related to AudienceView Campus, a third-party vendor contracted by universities and colleges, including McMaster, to facilitate online ticket sales for athletic events (mcmaster.universitytickets.com).

Several institutions are affected by the breach.

AudienceView Campus has indicated this data breach in some cases involves credit card information used to purchase tickets online between Feb. 17 and 21, 2023.

This issue may have an impact on supporters who made online ticket purchases for McMaster Marauder events during that period.

McMaster is notifying the affected purchasers directly and has notified authorities of the breach.

McMaster events potentially affected are:

Feb. 17 – Men’s and women’s basketball vs. Waterloo
Feb. 18 – Men’s and women’s basketball vs. Toronto
Feb. 25 – Women’s basketball OUA Quarterfinal
Feb. 25 – Men’s and women’s volleyball OUA Quarterfinals
Mar. 17-19 – U SPORTS Men’s Volleyball Championships tournament packages

AudienceView customers are encouraged to check their credit card statements and report any suspicious activity to their financial institutions. Affected customers may contact AudienceView (privacy.audienceview@audienceview.com) with questions or concerns.
