ChangeCampX: Develop community projects, learn about funding opportunities
Looking for a way to make a difference in Hamilton? Interested in developing a new project that responds to needs identified by the Hamilton community?
McMaster faculty, staff, students and members of the Hamilton community are invited to participate in ChangeCampX, a series of workshops taking place throughout November aimed at moving the recommendations in the Change Camp Hamilton report* from ideas to action.
Focusing on specific themes, ChangeCampX will encourage participants to develop project-specific plans and related actions, identify potential collaborators, and commit to advancing their project to implementation.
Events include:
Community Engagement and Healthy & Safe Communities
Thursday November 17, 6:30-9:00pm, McMaster Centre for Continuing Education
REGISTER
Culture & Diversity and Economic Prosperity & Growth
Wednesday November 23, 6:30-9:00pm, Hamilton Central Library

Registered participants will be asked via email, advance of the event, about the specific actions they are most interested in working on (e.g. food security). These answers will help ChangeCampX planning teams to create action-specific tables at each event.
Following each event, participants will be given a takeaway package that provides details on funding pathways–including new catalyst funds created to support ChangeCampX project ideas.
ChangeCampX workshops are brought to you by the Change Camp Hamilton partnership–McMaster Students Union & McMaster University, Mohawk Students Association & Mohawk College, Redeemer University College Student Senate & Redeemer University College, the City of Hamilton, Social Planning & Research Council of Hamilton, Hamilton Community Foundation, Hamilton HIVE, the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce, and Evergreen CityWorks.
*In March 2016, over 200 students, staff, faculty, residents, and community partners participated in Change Camp Hamilton, collectively developing 234 action recommendations aligned with the City of Hamilton’s Our Future Hamilton vision.
