Campus welcomes Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer cyclists June 9 and 10


For the third consecutive year, McMaster will be supporting the annual Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer fundraising event. Campus will serve as the halfway point for riders taking part in the two-day, 200 kilometers cycling event from June 9 to 10. At the end of the first day riders will be provided with dinner, and housed overnight inside residence buildings and tents in 10-acre field.

Riders participating in the event will begin to arrive on campus around 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 10 from the West, through campus ending at 10 acre field via Forsyth Ave N.

There will be limited access to specific parking lots around campus leading up to and including the event dates.

Formal speeches during evening ceremonies begin at 6 p.m.. A band will play until 8:45 p.m. and quiet hours begin at 9 p.m.. Non-rider guests and one-day riders will depart at 9 p.m..

On Sunday morning between 6:30 a.m. – 9 a.m. riders will depart campus exiting along Forsyth, through the main campus and out Westaway Road near the GO terminal. There will be a lane closure from 6:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. on southbound Cootes Drive between Westaway Rd and Main St. West.
