Campus Safety Services system maintenance on Saturday, Aug. 10

Campus Safety Services (formerly known as Security Services) has scheduled a maintenance upgrade to its Axiom technology system on Saturday, Aug. 10, as part of its commitment to keeping the university community safe and secure.

On Aug. 10, university community members can expect minor service impacts in the following areas:

  • No monitoring of freezer alarms located in buildings across campus.
  • The panic buttons located throughout campus will not be operational. Community members in need of assistance can continue to use the Assistance phones on the red Assistance Poles across the main campus or reach Campus Safety Services in an emergency by dialing *88 or 905-522-4135; or non-emergency by dialing 905-525-9140 ext. 24281.
  • Access-controlled doors in buildings on campus will continue to be operational with a slight delay on the doors opening once an employee’s access card is scanned.
  • New employees can continue to submit requests for Photo ID access cards. Any submissions after Thursday, Aug. 8 will be processed starting Tuesday, Aug. 13.

The above services will resume on Sunday, Aug. 11, unless otherwise indicated.
