Please accept this notice as an official call for nominations for the title of Distinguished University Professor (DUP).

The deadline for nominations is Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015.

The subsequent deadline for the submission of the full package of information for those candidates selected to move on to the final phase will be Feb. 1, 2016.

The Distinguished Awards Committee will make its recommendation to the Senate Committee on Appointments no later than March 1, 2016.

Please forward to provost@mcmaster.ca a letter of nomination, maximum three pages, signed by four individuals — at least two of whom must be McMaster professors.

Self-nomination is not acceptable. Nominators should address all aspects of the selection criteria, paying particular attention to why they feel the nominee is a complete scholar. The nominee’s CV is also required.
