Buildings on campus may have planned temporary loss of cooling
Some buildings on campus may have a temporary loss of air conditioning over the next few weeks as our system provides essential cooling to McMaster Children’s Hospital.
McMaster University’s system will be providing cooling to McMaster Children’s Hospital while repairs are completed on the hospital equipment. On hot days, the university’s cooling system may not have the capacity to provide air conditioning for all buildings on campus, as well as the hospital.
If conserving cooling capacity is necessary during this time, buildings on campus with low capacity, such as residences, or do not house academic laboratories would be the first to experience a temporary loss of cooling. To receive an email notice about a temporary loss of cooling for a specific building on campus, subscribe to Facility Services Building Alerts.
We would like to thank McMaster’s community for their understanding while we support McMaster Children’s Hospital with cooling that is essential for the safety of their patients. We will continue to provide updates as required.
