Bee Hotel Reception Nov. 4

All are welcome to attend the public reception at the McMaster Apiary on Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 4:30 p.m. to celebrate the unveiling of the University’s new bee hotels.

Students enrolled in the Environmentally Responsible Studio (ART 2ER3) have created bee hotels made from reclaimed wood, firebrick, bamboo and other found materials.

The Apiary is home to thousands of Honey Bees that are successfully producing large quantities of “Cold Water Creek” honey. This project expands the Apiary in providing habitats for additional species. The project promotes an understanding of a current environmental issue and uses artistic strategies to contribute to environmental and atheistic improvement of campus grounds.
