Award-winning science journalist to talk about rewards, risks of science writing
The McMaster Alumni Association, in partnership with the School of Interdisciplinary Science, is pleased to welcome award-winning science writer, editor and lecturer John Rennie to Hamilton for his talk, The Unprecedented Challenges, Rewards and Risks of Science Writing Today.

A distinguished writer in the field of science journalism, John has contributed to numerous print media sources including as the editor in chief of Scientific American and currently as the deputy editor for Quanta Magazine.
When not writing about science John can be seen talking about science through various guest appearances on television and radio including the History Channel specials How the Earth Made Man and Clash of the Cavemen, Discovery’s Apocalypse How, and NPR’s Science Friday. In addition to these guest appearances John created and hosted The Weather Network series, Hacking The Planet and co-hosted the hit special The Truth About Twisters.
A frequent public speaker at prestigious conferences and post-secondary institutions like MIT and the Warton School of Business, McMaster University is honored to have John visit McMaster and provide a public lecture for the Hamilton community.
