ShAIDS of Grey hits Toronto theatre

Care for Underprivileged Refugee Empowerment (CURE Canada) is taking its landmark original theatrical production ShAIDS of Grey on the road to Toronto. After a successful first run in Hamilton, ShAIDS will be travelling down the QEW for a three-night run at the Betty Oliphant Theatre and CURE could not be more excited.

School-based physical activity programs provide some health benefits

School-based physical activity programs are more likely to get kids moving during school hours, but have little impact on activity levels outside of class, according to a new review by a McMaster University researcher. Maureen Dobbins, an associate professor at McMaster University's School of Nursing, was the lead researcher on a review that looked at the benefits of physical activity programs in schools.

President Peter George named to Order of Ontario

McMaster University President Peter George was invested as a member of the Order of Ontario yesterday at Queen's Park. He was appointed to the Order in December 2007 President George, who is also a member of the Order of Canada, was honoured for his role as McMaster's President and Vice-Chancellor, and his contributions to post-secondary education, his community and as an economist and author. President George joined McMaster's faculty in 1965. He became president in 1995 and is currently serving his third five-year term.

Fifth annual Apprentice competition kicks off at DeGroote

The DeGroote School of Business' annual MARS Apprentice competition kicked off on January 20. For the next six weeks, 12 undergraduate commerce students will be completing challenges from JAN Kelley Marketing, BlackBerry and Rogers Communications, RBC Royal Bank, Frito Lay and Canadian Tire Financial Services with the goal of winning coveted full-time paid internships at sponsor companies.
