Students’ unused meal plan dollars assist Hamilton Food Share

Students have the opportunity to skip a meal this week to help others for whom missing meals may not be a choice but a necessity. The McMaster chapter of Meal Exchange, a national youth-driven charity that empowers youth to create social change in their communities, kicks-off its annual Skip a Meal campaign this week.

Student club raises $7,000 for MacWheelers

Mac Cares, a new student club focused on assisting disabled people, recently donated $7,000 to the MacWheelers, a specialized fitness and wellness program for people with spinal cord injury run by the kinesiology department. The funds received by MacWheelers will be used to purchase a Nu Step, a special piece of exercise equipment that allows people with paralysis to exercise their whole body - an important method to keep those with spinal cord injury fit and healthy.

French department hosts international conference

French scholars from across the globe will congregate at McMaster for an international conference titled, Aime Cesaire: dialogues contemporains avec le monde francophone (Aime Cesaire: Contemporary Dialogues with the Francophone World). Hosted by the Department of French and the Faculty of Humanities, the conference will act as the official launch of the department's doctoral application and expand on the department's new area of concentration, Francophonie et diversite (Francophone and Diversity).
