‘Young people care about democracy’

During advanced voting for the 2025 provincial election, McMaster’s first student-run polling station got out the youth vote. Political science PhD student Joanna Massie said the polling station was proof that young people can make an impact in our democracy.

Bridging the gap in Canadian digital currency policy

As Canada prepares for the upcoming federal election, one McMaster researcher is shedding some light on where politicians stand on digital currencies. Anwar Sheluchin, a PhD candidate in the Department of Political Science, is tracking statements made by federal politicians about digital currencies in the House of Commons. She's discovered a significant gap in the public’s understanding of crypto assets.
