Using MacDrive for collaborative research, with Courtney Sheppard, Information Technology Analyst, Social Sciences, McMaster, February 7, 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

MacDrive is a McMaster instances of an open-source, enterprise file sync and share platform with high reliability and performance. It is designed as a reliable cloud file storage and collaboration platform. It provides similar feature set to well-known cloud storage software (such as Dropbox or Google Drive), but allows users to their data on McMaster’s secure servers. This tool is incredibly valuable for researchers who want to share data with research team members but ensure their research data is housed on McMaster servers with a high degree of security.

This talk is part of the Centre for Research in Empirical Social Sciences (CRESS) Research in Focus (RIF) series.

All lunchtime talks will meet in LRWilson Hall 5001 on either Tuesdays or Wednesdays (see below). All students, faculty members, and staff are welcome. The Centre for Research in Empirical Social Sciences (cress.mcmaster.ca) will provide drinks and desserts. Questions about CRESS or the Research in Focus series can be directed to Dr. Michelle Dion at dionm@mcmaster.ca.
