Join us for the opening reception and launch of Thriving Together, an exhibition of artwork created by newcomer children and families in Hamilton!
The event will feature new research findings on newcomer mental health and well-being by Dr Amanda Sim and Dr Kathy Georgiades from the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences and The Offord Centre for Child Studies. We will also be joined by two refugee parent and youth representatives who will share their experiences of adapting to life in Canada.
The event is part of a community-based research partnership between McMaster University, Wesley, Centre[3] for artistic + social practice, and Hamilton Immigration Partnership Council. Light refreshments will be served.
Can’t make the launch? Stop by Hamilton City Hall from May 24th to June 7th, 2023 (8.30am-4.30pm) to check out the exhibition!
