Join us for a groovy evening of jazz with The Barry Livingston Group featuring special guests Freeplay Duo and Darcy Hepner. LIVELab founder and current Director, Dr. Laurel Trainor, will provide the “Science Snapshot” at this event.
The Barry Livingston Group features some of Canada’s best musicians from the jazz and global music scene including Suba Sankaran, Colleen Allen, Paul Fitterer and Kobi Hass. This special LIVELab performance will feature special guests Freeplay Duo (Dylan Bell and Suba Sankaran) and Darcy Hepner! Livingston’s evocative compositions incorporate diverse influences from mainstream jazz, European influences (the ECM label), South Indian and Asian music, Latin jazz, and bossa nova. The group has performed at some of Toronto’s top jazz venues (Musideum, University of Toronto Jazz at Oscar’s series), and at a number of Jazz Vespers events around the city.
