The 7th annual McMaster Conference on Education & Cognition (EdCog) takes place July 18-19, 2019 at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

The two-day event brings together educators, cognitive scientists and policy makers to explore how cognitive science can be applied to educational policy and instructional design. Over the years, we have had the privilege of hosting an outstanding lineup of plenary speakers and this tradition continues with our lineup for EdCog 2019:

  • David Miele (Boston College) “Beliefs About the Nature of Ability and Effort: Their Role in Learning, Parenting, and Teaching”
  • Shana Carpenter (Iowa) ” Using Prequestions to Enhance Student Learning
  • Ido Davidesco (NYU) “Brain-to-Brain Synchrony in the Classroom”
  • Noah Forrin (McMaster) “Investigating the Spread of Attention/Inattention in the Classroom”

In addition, posters, a discussion panel and evidence-based workshops provide practical guidelines for essential teaching skills.
