Welcome to an exciting new season of concerts organized by the School of the Arts! We have had the pleasure to host guest musicians with strong national and international reputations for over 40 years. This year makes our first season in the impressive new Concert Hall in the most recently completed building on McMaster’s campus, the L.R. Wilson Hall.

Tuesday lunchtime (12:30 p.m.) concerts are free to attend. Friday evening concert (8 p.m.) tickets are regular $20, senior $15, and student $5. A subscription to all four Friday evening concerts is regular $60 and senior $45.

We hope you will join us for our 2017 – 18 Concert Series that draws on music traditions from around the world, and the official opening of an important new venue for concerts in Hamilton.

Amir Amiri was born in Tehran, Iran where much of his youth was spent studying the saunter, a 72-string hammer dulcimer that lies at the heart of Persian classical music. He also studied Indian classical music with some of the masters, including Ravi Shankar and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. While he is classically trained, Amiri has always sought to explore the limits of his music, stretching beyond the constraints of classical thought.
