Vanier Canada Scholar and PhD student Carly Whitmore will present: Methodological considerations for the use of distinct quantitative and qualitative samples in mixed methodological health research: Sampling and data integration strategies.

The objectives are to explore current approaches for sampling and data integration in mixed methodological health research; to describe the benefits and challenges of completing secondary data analysis in mixed methodological health research and to advance methodological strategies for purposeful sampling and data integration when using distinct quantitative and qualitative samples using a study example examining the relationship between multimorbidity, resilience, and self-reported health among older adults.

Who should attend?

  • Graduate students (Master’s or PhD) enrolled in a Nursing Graduate Program
  • Researchers interested in developing &/or determining the effectiveness of nurse-led interventions
  • Clinical faculty interested in designing, implementing or incorporating in their practice, and evaluating the effects of nurse-led interventions
