The McMaster University Institute for Music and the Mind (LIVELab) will premiere a new exclusive behind-the-scenes documentary series, The Art of Science on Wednesday, March 2nd at 7:00pm.
LIVELab is known for its world-class research in the field of the arts including music, dance, theatre and more. This new series “The Art of Science” takes you behind the scenes and into the minds of LIVELab researchers and scientists. It’s all about telling the stories behind LIVELab research studies. This series shows that these scientists and researchers are artists themselves, just as much as the artists they research.
The first episode of ‘The Art of Science’ will premiere on March 2nd, 2022 at 7pm via the McMaster LIVELab YouTube and Facebook channels. It will focus on ‘The Coordination of Music and Dance’, taking audiences behind the scenes of a recently-completed study at the LIVELab investigating the synchronization of dancers across various music and stage conditions.
Featuring behind-the-scenes footage, interviews with industry professionals, and an exciting look into the motion-capture process undertaken by the LIVELab scientists for this study, the first episode of The Art of Science promises to be an engaging watch for anyone interested in dance, research, or the scientific process.
This first episode will also feature a full dance performance by Amanda Damaren and Seana Williams, choreographed by Dr. Henry Daniel and featuring music composed by Emily Wood.
