Interested in learning more about the impacts of poverty in our community and how your voice can be heard? Join us on October 2 to hear from campus and community leaders working to reduce poverty and advocate for change in Hamilton. You will also have the opportunity to hear personal stories and experiences from individuals who have been participating in the Ontario Basic Income Pilot. We will discuss the implications of the pilot cancellation and what this means at the municipal level with a view towards the October 22 municipal election.

Featuring speakers:

  • Tom Cooper, Hamilton Roundtable for Poverty Reduction
  • Matthew Green, Ward 3 City Councillor
  • Stephanie Baker Collins, McMaster Community Poverty Initiative
