In this presentation, you’ll learn how to access, at no cost, the national Digital Research Platform: hardware resources (CPUs, GPUs, memory, storage, including cloud VMs), as well as software and training.
Faculty can complete a simple online application to get an account, and can sponsor student accounts to work on the Platform. With an account, you can immediately begin using familiar tools such as R, Jupyter and many commercial applications, as well as Cloud and RDM facilities.
At McMaster, direct support is provided by SHARCNET, which is a member of the national Digital Research Alliance of Canada. Alliance staff across the country are experts in many domains, and can help you use resources efficiently, including many training opportunities. An annual Research Allocation Competition (RAC) is available for large projects; this year’s RAC has just opened, and we’ll explain it and answer questions.
