Meet Your Panelists:
Elijah Cosby
Elijah I’m a biomedical & mechatronics engineering student at McMaster University. He loves coming up with creative ideas to help make people’s lives better through technology. In high school He started a project that grew into his own company (Visualize Assistive Technologies) and that project won the 2023 Canadian national youth innovation award for technology and entrepreneurship in the Ingenious+ competition! Come hear from Elijah and discover more about his inspiration process and the positive impact he is making on the visually impaired community.
Adrian Salerno
Adriana is currently in her second year of Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering at McMaster. Growing up she was always closely connected to the STEM community participating in school science fairs and STEM camps. After her mom was diagnosed with breast cancer during her first year of university she became even more driven to create solutions that support dignity confidence and well-being. She is currently developing a device designed to help individuals undergoing chemotherapy minimize hair loss and maintain their sense of identity throughout treatment. The technology aims to offer a more accessible and effective solution to support patients’ well-being.
