With support from the Office of the Dean of Science, the School of Interdisciplinary Science is pleased to announce the start of a monthly Brown Bag series meant to encourage multidisciplinary interactions among all members of the McMaster community.

Through MacDUET (McMaster University Dean’s Undergraduate Education Talks), we aim to create a casual environment where invited speakers share innovative ideas about teaching and learning and further discuss how these ideas are realized into practice.

All talks are held on a Friday at 12:30 p.m. until 1:20 p.m. in the MacPherson Classroom on the 5th floor of Mills Library.

January 26, 2018: Dr. Jennifer Long & Dr. Amin Rajabzadeh – “Teaching Undergraduates How To Be Team Players”. By the end of this session, participants should be able to: (1) Identify the benefits of teaching students explicitly about the best practices of group work; and (2) Adapt sample activities on how to teach undergraduates about being part of a team into their classrooms

February 23, 2018: Dr. Dan Goldreich – Critical Thinking in the Classroom
