Dr. Carla Rice and Ingrid Mundel

In the public talk, ReVision co-directors, Dr. Carla Rice and Ingrid Mundel discuss combining critical theory and creative art-based methods as an approach to liberating research participants. They will explore how active, engaged research processes can help counter systemic inequalities and reduce the stigma of being the “outsider.” ReVision engages in helping build a world where difference is not just tolerated but understood as critical to the story of humanity.

In the workshop, they introduce ReVision’s new on-line storymaking site, revisionstorymaking.ca. They offer an overview of ReVision’s storymaking method and engage participants in hands-on storymaking activities. Through play, participants will have an opportunity to investigate the power of the arts to open up conversations about systemic (rather than individualized) injustices in health care, education, the arts and other sectors.
